Next week our class is going to a place called curious cove on Monday and lately our class have been learning about mammals, sea birds and fish.

Marlborough Sounds

Lately in class we have been learning about Marlborough Sounds its a bunch of islands at the top of the South island in New Zealand. I have learned there are heaps of stuff to do there like go diving, play on the tramps, camping, and much more.  In the actual place there are a lot of river valleys and hills they are made by rising sea levels and sinking ones.

  According to Maori mythology are the prows of the sunken wake of Aoraki. There are heaps of docs and its mostly quiet bays . There are many islands in the Sounds. Many are named after the people who discovered them.

 D' Urville island is named after a French explorer. Some of the islands are very important for protecting native species. Maud island is one of then this is because its the home of the Kakapo, Takahe and the Hamilton frog.

Introduce the Student Volunteer Army work you are going to be doing this term
	This term we are making a Student Volunteer Army and we will be offering to help out our community by putting rubbish in the bin, or helping people cross the road or cleaning the beach, help church groups. plants for retirement homes.
Curious Cove
	It is in the top of the South Island in the Marlborough Sounds where heaps of different islands are surrounding it. We are going there for heaps of learning and a cool experience, and to do heaps of fun activities. We will do heaps of activities and go on mini trips.
Healthiest Schools
	Heaps of schools get this watch that will record your steps and how much you do, it also tells the time and how much calories you burn. We are doing this because everyone else is doing it and our teacher said we have to. We want to see if our school is fit or not
